AIT Hackers Association

AIT Hackers Association is back.

Fellow Hackers,

Time, they say, is the most important asset in our fraternity. And I agree to the same in my full being.

Agreed that we have not been in touch for a while, but DO NOT ASSUME IT AS OUR DEATH... mind you, "WE ARE ALIVE".

Yes, we are damn alive and we have been working day in and day out to create stuff that you, the fellow hackers would love to be a part of.

A) First and foremost, AHA, which was initially started as an informal student organisation has off-shooted itself into a formal registered club, by the name of Open Source Activities Centre.

Visit :

Congratulations to everyone!

B) Then, We have successfully completed designing of the new AIT College Website. The demo version is available at http://beta.aitoss.net

So it is a humble request to all to visit it, and provide us with your valuable feedback.

We can now boast of the best web facilities available for ourselves:

1. online project management system
2. online tutorials
3. Discussions and forums
4. Notices and notifications
5. online assignment submission
and many many more.

And that's not all friends. We have more in our bag.

C) A dedicated web server is currently operational, with 500GB space (as of now) and we plan to switch to an ubuntu cloud soon, with a capacity of 2TB(huh!)

Do visit : http://inspirators.homelinux.net

(Don't mind if it throws error 404, AIT as always is under electricity crisis )

We are currently providing root access to only the teams working on various projects here.

Well, that reminds me of the other projects that we have undertaken.

D) A GIT hosting facility is operational, by the name of iCode
The creators have open-sourced the code as well.

And if that does not suffice as the reasons for our absense,

E) An LDAP server is in the making too.

F)  Video Conferencing system (using bigbluebutton)

F) Scipher will be back. Yes, Saturday Cipher a.k.a. SCIPHER will be back from next saturday. And this time, the prize money is BIG.

G) A regular column in the college technical newsletter http://effervescence.aitoss.net

So, fellow hackers, I hope we have done our bit. All the endeavours are open for public viewing. Please provide your feedback on each of them.
We would love to hear from you.
And, as in the Transformers, they say, WE ARE HERE...WE ARE WAITING.

Suggestions, comments, feedback, questions, clarifications, all are welcome. Write back, even if it's just a hello. We would love to hear from you.

Cheers,
Prince Mishra
