CODING

OVERVIEW

The CODING event explores the ability of the students to apply their programming skills to solve problems related to logic. The problems shall be related to mathematics, geometry or something from your everyday experience. The event shall consist of 2 rounds. Round 1 shall be an elimination round out of which the best teams will participate in the 2nd round.




WHAT ARE THE START AND END DATES?
This competition starts at 14:15 Indian Standard Time (IST) on Jan 23, 2010. and ends on the 30th January.

CAN YOU ENTER?
Every bonafide student of Army Institute of Technology, Pune is eligible.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THE COMPETITION?
  1. A Team may consist of up to two (2) eligible students (Same branch, but not necessarily same batch). 
  2. Eight (8) teams per branch will participate.
REGISTRATIONS


ROUND 1(Eliminations):
  • On January 23rd, 2010 at 14:15 hrs.
  • 8 teams from each branch shall participate in this round.
  • The teams shall work on a maximum of 6 problems.
  • The time taken for solving the problems shall be noted and considered for scoring i.e more marks for less time taken.
  • Duration: 3 hours
ROUND 2(Finals): 
  • On January 30th,2010 at 09:15hrs.
  • Top 10 teams out of the total 32 teams shall compete for the Final round.
  • This round shall again have a maximum of 6 problems.
  • The time taken to solve the problems will figure in the scoring.
  • Duration: 3 hours.
JUDGING CRITERIA:

Logic Used:
The logic used to solve the given problem shall be considered for awarding points. A better logic shall be entitled to get more points. Various factors like simplicity of method, time and space complexities involved etc. shall decide the quality of the logic.

Time Taken: More points will be awarded for less time taken. Hence the time taken for solving the problems will be noted.

The decision of the JUDGES regarding the event rules and awarding of points shall be final in all circumstances.
